I love Thanksgiving!
Not that that information is necessarily important, it’s just a fact. And getting to make and eat delicious food isn’t the only reason (although it’s definitely a big reason). I just think it’s really important in our crazy world to dedicate a day to appreciating the wonderful things each of us has to be thankful for, no matter what that is.
Now Thanksgiving just passed, and it was definitely a great one. One of the ways I like to share the holiday with my loved ones is by sharing pictures of the event, and of course, the delicious dishes.
This year I did something a little different with my fruit plate, I arranged the fruit slices to look like a turkey, complete with cranberry eyes. Of course, once I snapped a pic of the cute little guy, I had to share it.
I sent the picture to a very dear friend of mine, and she said something interesting. “You should start a cookbook photo album.”
I will admit that I take pictures of my food, something my kids like to poke fun at me for. No, I’m not having a full-blown photoshoot at my booth in a restaurant, but I do try to make my home cooked meals look good. I’ve never really done much with the pictures beyond sharing them with friends and family.
Anyway, the main reason it stood out to me when my friend said “You should start a cookbook photo album.” is because I’d been thinking about starting a blog. Aside from cooking, I also really like to write, about anything really.
So that’s all it took, it’s not a cookbook, but here I am. Let that be a lesson to you friends of people out there, encourage your friends to do fun things, and chances are that they’ll give it a go!
So there it is. I decided to write about food.
I know it’s not an explosive story, but there’s some adventure to it. The adventure of getting out there and trying something new, like how I tried something new with my fruit plate at Thanksgiving this year!
If this is the only one of my posts you ever read, let that be the takeaway. It’s never a bad idea to try something new…unless it’s drugs…don’t do drugs.
Thanks for reading.

My dad taught me to enjoy the smell, taste, temperature, and texture of food. So much joy is available in a daily activity!
So true!
